You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, 'I lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along.' ~~~Eleanor Roosevelt

Smeared and Smudged 2nd Annual Blog Hop!!!

SMEARED AND SMUDGED
2ND   ANNUAL
BLOG  HOP!!

I Must Confess!!

I have something I need to tell all of my
blogging friends out there in web world!
I have been dreading this post
for days  and have put it off so many times
but  now just seems the right time to do this!

I am sorry but I am going to have to
stop blogging and making altered art!
There's just not enough time in the day
to get everything done and I just don't
 feel the creative flow anymore!
I don't know what's wrong with me .
I just don't want to do this anymore.
Maybe I need to get a different hobby,
one that doesn't eat up all of my extra time!

Either way, I am just burnt out on
all of this blogging and art stuff.
There is paper scraps and scissors
 and paint smeared everywhere!
IT'S A MESS ALL OF THE TIME!

There's junk all over my house and the
kids are getting into my supplies and
tearing them up and my husband
complains all of the time about the mess!

My altered art mess ends up getting strung
from one end of the house to the other!
I' ve just got to quit and that's that !

I guess this is my last ever post
and I am ever going to write !
Oh, this is so sad but it has to be done!
I am deleting all of my accounts today!

So goodbye my dear and faithful friends!
I will never forget your kindness toward
me and all of the wonderful art
that you have shared with me!

Good bye dear friends!!

Goodbye!

I will never forget you !

I will treasure you for always!

Goodbye!

NOT!!!
You have just beeen punked !

April Fools!!!!

Did I have you going?
YOU know I  could never ever quit
my blogging or creating my spooky
altered art and my vintage art!
NO WAY!!

If I was in a body cast,
hanging upside down with a blind fold on,
I would figure out someway to
keep doin' my art thang !!

Like the body needs food...
once you start to creat art,
you open the door to your soul!
As the body needs bread and drink...
a soul yearns to express the deep
neverending depth of what life is,
and through that life is art.
Art feeds the soul!

O.K.  People
Let's Party!

Smeared and Smudged is just the
greatest group of people around !
Our art is an expression of our feelings ,
our imagination, and our creativity!
If you ever want to be inspired daily
by a group of wonderful people,
then go over and visit
Smeared and Smudged
and talk to our host, Terra!
Come aad join in on all of the tutorials
and fun sub-groups that she offers!!

It's not a Halloween--
--365 days a year--
 kind of Art Group!

There are sub-groups for
 journaling, altering books,
sketch challenges, a fairy group,
a ATC Swap Group,
and a Twisted Tutorial group,
whose main focus is on finding
and learning new techniques to
use in their art projects!

It's a group that inspires you to dig deep within
your inner self to find the light and dark sides,
to discover WHO you really are!

It's exhilerating to allow yourself the
freedom  to completely give yourself over
to your creative instincts and to express
the "real" you-- through your art work!

It's a discovery of the possibilities.
Maybe you may have never had the
 courage to completely let go
and truly express yourself when
you've created art before!
Maybe you were playing it too safe!
It's in the impossibilites that all
things can become possible!

Trust me, once you really know who
your are and what you want,
  the imagaination flows
and the spirt soars!

If you love Rubber Stamping ,
then this is also the group for you!
Terra has her own line of stamps that she designs
that are really out of this world awesome!

Just go to the web site on the Terra's
blog button and you will see for yourself
all of the cool stamps she has in her store!

Now to show you a few projects that I have created:

Since it is April Fool's Day,
I am going to mix it up some,
give you a view of my altered art work
from the past , present, and future!!

"Flight"

This is the  poem that I wrote that
goes with the theme of  this art piece!

O, Woman,
Stand Straight!
Stand Tall!
 Go Forth!
Even though
ye be
filled with woes!

O, Warriar!
Be Brave!
Be True!
The Battle is Fierce,
Where the Heart beats
Strong within thy Soul!

O Woman,
Go Forth!
Good Courage to Thee!
Release Thy Fate!
Take Flight And Soar!

"TIME"

That's an image of "grown-up me" holding "baby me"!

KNITTING WITCHES KNITTING UP A SPELL!

How many knitting witches are in this art piece?

DragonDreams TAG IT ON Challenge

The Theme this week for
 TAG IT ON
 is
"Willow Pattern Story"

Here is my entry:

I loved this challenge and the story was so sweet.
I  would like to make a mini-book about this theme!
I will post the story as soon as I turn my entry in
so that you can read it and understand
what our theme was all about!

The Willow Pattern Story

The Willow Pattern represents
a beautiful love story....

....In ancient China a powerful nobleman lived
in a palace with his beautiful daughter.
The Palace was surrounded by gardens
with fruit trees & a lovely willow.
But the daughter fell in love with her father's
humble clerk, against her father's wishes.
The clerk was dismissed & they were forbidden to
see each other.  A zig-zag fence was built around
the gardens so that the poor clerk could not enter.
However the two lovers fled & escaped
across a bridge, with her father chasing them.
The lovers traveled to a distant land but the
nobleman sent his men to kill them.
When the Gods saw what was happening,
they transformed the couple
 into a pair of lovebirds....

Thanks for looking at my art work
and have a pleasent evening!

Darkness Inspiration Challenge

The Theme for this Challenge is
"Scary Clowns"!
I made this a 3-dimensional piece of art!
I'm afraid my pictures do not
 do this project much justice!

The front of the piece has a canopy
that stretches out about two inches
from the images on the inside of the image!

Maybe a better view of the canopy!

CLOSE  UP!

"Little Anne" just had to have her
picture taken with the clowns!

I wanted to build a small
stage to attach to the
 bottom of the  piece to
support it's edges
 and give viewers a better
 look at the unique features
of the clown images
 but...
I simply ran out of time!!!
  Oh well, another day, perhaps?

I couldn't leave out this beauty!

Dulcamara's Fierce Feline!
Mr. Pied Piper

Thank you for looking at my entry
and please have a great day!

Hello to all Smeared and Smudged Members!
We are having  our 1st Annual Blog Hop!!

Isn't this so much fun!
I am having a great day today!
Thank you for stopping by
and visiting my blog !
I hope you like my art work and
I am looking forward to visiting your blogs
to see all the great pieces of art you've created!

A "Special Thank You"
goes out to Terra, our Host,
for organizing this super event !
I am so glad that I joined this group!

YOU guys made me feel
so welcome and comfortable!
I am looking forward to all of the
art tutorials and challenges that
we will be doing in the future!
Have a great day!

***VISITORS***
I am so glad that you
stopped by today to visit my blog
because you will get the chance to
learn about this fanastic
new group I just joined!
If you especially love
creating art with stamps,
then this is the group for you!!

We create Alternative art,
Gothic art, and Vintage art
but with one condition...
a stamped image must be
placed somewhere on the project!

Here is my PROJECT that I created
just for this "SPECIAL BLOG HOP"
for everyone to see!

I first found out about this group
from one of my dear friends,
Lyn at Blackdragon's Crafts!
I knew I didn't want to miss out on
all of the fun and immediately posted to join!

There are so many interesting sub-groups to join
to spark our imagination with new ideas
for creating mixed media and altered art!
There are also challenges and contests to enter,
which is my all time favorite thing to do!
 I love art challenges!
Especially their challenges--very cool!!
They also offer classess and tutorials
on the latest art trends and ink /stamp/ projects.

What I liked the most about the group
was the warm welcome from the other members
and the willingness to share ideas and knowledge
about techniques that some of us newbies
may not know about or had much experience with!

If you want to begin a journey on the
Path of Fulfillment as a successful artist,
you join in with the others that
are going down the same path.
Your life will become enriched by the
 encouragment and inspiration you
will receive from your fellow artists!

As they begin share their
 different perspectives
and feelings about their own art,
you will feel the urge to delve deeply
in your own soul to explore your talent
and examine your own true convictions
 about what makes your art
such a big part of who you are!

Go back to when you felt that first
"LITTLE NUDGE" to pick up a paint brush,
paint, ink, glue, scissors, paper, etc.,
to create what you soon learned
that you couldn't live without!

That's why joining a group is so important!!
Everyone has one thing in common
--it's huge--

We love to create
&
We create what we love!

No Holds Barred!

Darkness Inspiration Challenge

It has been hectic!
A lot of sickness in the house!
The little ones have been grumpy,
croupy, sniffling, little critters!
I feel so sorry for them when they get sick!
We are through the worst of it now
and I have gained back some time to
dedicate myself to the challenges
I was working on before the
colds and snowy weather hit!

I haven't sent one into the
Darkness Challenge in over a month!
The theme this week was:
 Dark and Sinister Moon
I worked on several ideas before
I finally decided on this one!

Even though this scene looks innocent enough,
she's knitting, he's smiling, they both are engaged
in a friendly, casual conversation...still...
you never know who to trust
when the moon is dark and sinister!

Thank  you for visiting my site and
taking a spooky look at my entry!!
 Have a very spooky night!

Soarful Saturday Challenge

I posted  my
Soartful Saturday Challenge

  it  was this very colorful
 misty, orange background.

The first thing that popped
into my mind was this:

FULL MOON TONIGHT!

LARGEST FULL MOON
 SEE  IT TONIGHT!

The first full moon of 2010
will appear tonight,  Jan. 29, 2010,
but it will also be the biggest and brightest
full moon of the year.

 It's even been called the
"Supermoon."

And for all of those Martian Fans,
Look for a reddish, star-like object to the
left of the Moon, and you will find Mars!

So the question still remains...

Does the Full Moon
cause People to go Crazy?

There are some people that believe the
strange stories (mostly rumors) about the
extreme behavior that exists amoung animals
and human beings during a full moon.
Scienctific studies over the years have tried to
prove that the  unexplained phenomena is tied to
the Moon during it's Full Lunar Phase.

  more births, deaths,
suicides, heart attacks, epileptic
seizures, double the hospital admissions,
quadruple the  psychiatric  hospital admissions,
many  more  criminials arrested,  more occurring
violence, more murders take place, thus creating
more murderers!  Is there any evidence that can
really prove that the reports of  the "Crazy"
Connection" has anything to do with the
Full Moon and  the extreme, bizarre
behaviors listed here?

Scientists and other
Reputed Professionals of Historic
Acclaim, have all reported  that all  of  the
data that has been vigorously studied over the past
100 years, states that there is no significant increase
of  extreme and bizarre behavior or instances of crime
and violence that could be connected to the lunar phase
of the Full Moon has been proven to be justifiably
coincedental,  purely speculation, or simply
superstition. The scientific facts remain.
So, there is no such thing as the
"Full Moon Crazy's" !!

Or Is There???

Lawrence Talbot, a haunted nobleman lured back
to his family estate after his brother vanishes.
The Wolfman synopsis reveals that as he
is reunited with his estranged father,
Talbot sets out to find his brother
and discovers a horrifying destiny for himself.

As The Wolfman plot unfolds and he pieces
together the gory puzzle, he hears of an
ancient curse that turns the afflicted into
werewolves when the moon is full.
Now, if he has any chance at ending the
slaughter and protecting the woman he has
grown to love, Talbot must destroy the vicious
creature in the woods surrounding Blackmoor.
But as he hunts for the nightmarish beast,
The Wolfman synopsis reveals that a simple
man with a tortured past will uncover a primal
side to himself . . . one he never imagined existed.

Be Forewarned:

Stay inside your house tonight and keep
all of your windows and doors locked!

Dear Friends, leave me a comment...

Life Is A Witch And Then You Fly!

Life Is A Witch And Then You Fly!

The Poem "Dark Rosaleen"

O my Dark Rosaleen, Do no sigh, do not weep! The priests are on the ocean green, they march along the Deep. There's wine from the royal Pope upon the ocean green; and Spanish ale shall give you hope, My Dark Rosaleen! My own Rosaleen! Shall glad your heart, shall give you hope, Shall give you health, and help, and hope, My Dark Rosaleen. Over hills and through dales have I roamed for your sake; all yesterday I sailed with sails on river and on lake. The Erne at its highest flood I dashed across unseen, For there was lightning in my blood, My Dark Rosaleen! My own Rosaleen! Oh! there was lightning in my blood, Red lightning lightened through my blood, My Dark Rosaleen! All day long in unrest to and fro do I move, The very soul within my breast Is wasted for you, love! The heart in my bosom faints to think of you, my Queen, My life of life, my saint of saints, My Dark Rosaleen! My own Rosaleen! To hear your sweet and sad complaints, My life, my love, my saint of saints, My Dark Rosaleen! Woe and pain, pain and woe, are my lot night and noon, To see your bright face clouded so, like to the mournful moon. But yet will I rear your throne again in golden sheen;'Tis you shall reign, shall reign alone, My Dark Rosaleen! My own Rosaleen! 'Tis you shall have the golden throne,'Tis you shall reign, and reign alone, My Dark Rosaleen! Over dews, over sands will I fly for your weal; your holy delicate white hands shall girdle me with steel. At home in your emerald bowers, from morning's dawn till e'en, you'll pray for me, my flower of flowers, My Dark Rosaleen! My fond Rosaleen! You'll think of me through Daylight's hours, My virgin flower, my flower of flowers, My Dark Rosaleen! I could scale the blue air, I could plough the high hills, Oh, I could kneel all night in prayer, to heal your many ills! And one beamy smile for you would float like light between my toils and me, my own, my true, My Dark Rosaleen! My fond Rosaleen! Would give me life and soul anew, A second life, a soul anew, My Dark Rosaleen! O! the Erne shall run red with redundance of blood, The earth shall rock beneath our tread, and flames wrap hill and wood, and gun-peal, a slogan cry, wake many a glen serene, ere you shall fade, ere you shall die, My Dark Rosaleen! My own Rosaleen! The Judgment Hour must first be nigh, ere you can fade, ere you can die, My Dark Rosaleen!
